    How ECG test is done

    • Remove all your clothing from the waist up as we need an empty chest to stop the chest nerves. A sheet will be provided so that you can cover yourself.
    • Exit your lower legs below the knees. You will be asked to remove the pantyhose or tights; however, you can keep your shoes and socks on.
    • Lie on your back on the ECG bed.

     

    Once you are bedridden and comfortable, the lab assistant will:

     

    • Apply alcohol to a small area of your upper arms lower legs and chest (around the heart area).
    • In total six sensors are placed respectively on thechest and each arm and leg.
    • Feel the rib cage to ensure proper chest placement. Some placement may require breast augmentation; this is done using the back of the hand.
    • Make sure you cover when the nerves are set and the straps are attached to maintain your modesty.
    • You can place pillows under your legs or re-use one or more sensors to ensure an accurate reading.
